James is a management consultant with a wealth of experience delivering value for publicly listed, privately owned and government clients. For twenty years he has advised clients on business valuation, corporate finance, M&A, corporate performance, and executive incentives. His skill sets also include advanced Excel modelling and data science techniques using Python involving big data and machine learning applied to business problems.
During the period 2009 to 2019 James was a senior member of a corporate valuation practice within a Big 4 firm, working on value and strategy projects with many ASX listed companies as well as for State and Federal government clients. He has provided valuation advice to boards, investors, and executive leadership for Australian and multi-national businesses across a wide range of industry sectors.
Previously James was a member of the Australian practice of Stern Stewart & Co, a global corporate finance consulting firm headquartered in New York. James led engagements with ASX 30 companies and his research was published annually in the Australian Financial Review. James began his career as an Australian Army officer, serving in the Royal Australian Engineer Corps (recipient of the Australian Service Medal and Nato medal).
James completed the 2 year full-time MBA program at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM). He also has a Master of Science from UNSW in Operations Research and Statistics (i.e. decision science and analytics).
